Turkey's energy will rise during the holiday

Energy consumption will increase during the 9-day holiday in tourism regions

Energy consumption will increase by 10-14 percent in districts such as Bodrum, Çeşme, Foça, Fethiye, Marmaris and Kuşadası.

Gdz Elektrik General Manager Uğur Yüksel:

Energy investment in tourism regions will increase 2.5 times

Energy consumption will increase by 10 percent in Çeşme, Foça, Seferihisar, Urla and Dikili.

Adm Elektrik General Manager Ahmet Bayramoğlu:

Energy consumption will increase by 14 percent in Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Didim, Kuşadası

This year, we will invest 98 million lira in Bodrum, 63 million lira in Fethiye, 55 million lira in Milas, 56 million lira in Kuşadası and 31 million lira in Didime.

As Turkey entered a 9-day holiday, local and foreign tourists began to flock to tourism regions. The increasing population in tourism regions will cause a 10-14 percent increase in energy consumption in popular holiday destinations such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Didim, Kuşadası, Çeşme, Foça and Dikili. The number of teams on site for fault repair purposes in holiday regions will be increased.

As the 9-day holiday coincides with July, there will be an influx of tourists to the coastal cities, while energy consumption in holiday spots will increase by 10-14 percent in these 9 days compared to normal times.

NUMBER OF TEAM INCREASED BY 30 PERCENT

Gdz Elektrik General Manager Uğur Yüksel stated that they foresee a 10 percent increase in energy consumption during the 9-day holiday period in Çeşme, Foça, Seferihisar, Urla and Dikili, which are located in their areas of responsibility. Yüksel said, “Since energy demands will be much higher than normal on the coastline where our holiday regions are concentrated, we have made the necessary preparations in our electricity distribution networks. "In addition, in case of need, additional mobile capacities will be provided thanks to 7 mobile transformers and distribution centers with a total power of 8,000 kVA and 8 mobile generators with a total power of 2,000 kVA," he said.

Yüksel noted that they will increase their field team capacity by 30 percent during the holiday for immediate response to power outages that may occur in the districts in question and for fault repairs.

INVESTMENTS WILL INCREASE 2.5 TIMES

Yüksel explained that they will make an investment of 146 million liras in 2021, increasing the investment amount to approximately 2.5 times in the tourism regions in their areas of responsibility.

GIANT INVESTMENT

Adm Elektrik General Manager Ahmet Bayramoğlu stated that they foresee a 14 percent increase in energy consumption during the 9-day holiday period in Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Didim and Kuşadası in their areas of responsibility.

Stating that 589 personnel and 112 vehicles will work full time in Aydın, Denizli and Muğla provinces in the said period, Bayramoğlu said, “In addition, 3 mobile distribution centers, 6 mobile transformer centers and 9 mobile vehicles will be established in these provinces to be used in cases of need due to rapid consumption increases that may occur.” "The generator will be available," he said.

Explaining that serious investments are planned in tourism areas in the distribution regions this year and significant progress has been made in the work, Bayramoğlu stated that they will invest approximately 450 million liras in tourism areas in 2021.
