We launched our G-LAB R&D and Entrepreneurship Center in 2020 to produce solutions to the needs of today and the future with an innovative perspective.
We are responsible for providing uninterrupted and continuous electrical energy, which is indispensable for daily life, to the population of 5.9 million, in short, for bringing electricity to homes and workplaces.
Providing uninterrupted energy 24 hours a day, 365 days a year is a difficult task all over the world. With our line length exceeding 60 thousand km in Izmir and Manisa and nearly 35 thousand transformers, we continue our people-oriented work day and night, and we do this with love.
We aimed to not only use but also develop technology and established G-LAB, a sustainable thematic R&D and Entrepreneurship Center that will produce innovative and technological solutions to our needs.
G LAB is different from hundreds of entrepreneurship support programs because we enable you to work at the same table with your stakeholders at the idea stage.
We support your development by providing data to your work and build our collaborations on long-term foundations. Most importantly, we protect your intellectual property rights and undertake to purchase your product.
What G LAB Provides You
The opportunity to see first-hand the daily needs and problems of the sector, which makes 10 billion TL network investment and 500 million TL technology investment annually. | |

What We Have Done So Far
made up of creative ideas 25 application we got
We held our first Datathon event in our network centers, where we will work on the forecasting approach for defined cases of possible future "failure", that is, "outage" calls.
We attended the working group meetings within the scope of the Izmir Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Joint Cooperation Strategy Study, which took place in four sessions in May and June. Throughout the working group meetings, key actions that need to be taken to improve services for entrepreneurs in the ecosystem emerged. In this process, we created the infrastructure of the Partnership Structure Strategy Document, which will be created at the end of the study, together with the participants, including the Gdz team.
We created a corporate account on behalf of our company on the EuroQuity platform, which was established by the European Commission to provide more visibility, investor meeting and support services to European-based start-up companies. We held stakeholder meetings on new business partners with companies based in Europe and Africa that have the Seal of Excellence, via the Euroquity online platform.
New projects
Document Validation Process Automation
Stakeholders of the Project:
Minus16 Technology
The goal of the project:
The Document Validation Processes Automation project aims to process documents, categorize, digitalize and automate document validation processes.

The output of the project is modern, easy-to-manage, categorized, verified and compatibility-checked archives created with smart document processing in a digital environment.
Benefits of the Project:
The benefits of the project can be listed as follows;
• Extracting data with fast text recognition
• Extracting, classifying, verifying data
• Verifying whether all legal requirements are met in the extracted data
• Checking the compliance of data with legislation
• Automating data entry tasks and processes
• Simplifying due diligence and audits
• Increasing operational efficiency

• Verification of customers and identities
• Improving customer experience
• Reducing operational costs
Salt Water Batteries Based Energy Storage Facilities
Stakeholders of the Project: Salty Energy Storage
The goal of the project: The main purpose of this project is to implement a completely domestic and national energy storage unit that operates in the high voltage range, has high performance and low cost, has a long life, is completely environmentally friendly and safe. In this context, it is aimed to increase the use of renewable energy resources and reduce foreign energy dependency and Turkey's current account deficit.
Output of the Project: The first step is to produce 12, 24, 48V 60Ah batteries for use in stationary systems. As intermediate output, the produced anode/cathode materials can be sold separately.
Benefits of the Project: Turkey's energy needs are increasing day by day, which increases foreign dependency. The use of renewable energy will increase significantly with the development of batteries that are both low-cost and environmentally friendly. Additionally, no 100% domestic battery is produced in Turkey. Battery parts are generally purchased from abroad, assembled and sold in Turkey. Increasing the use of renewable energy resources and the production and commercialization of 100% domestic and national batteries will both help close Turkey's current account deficit and provide commercial and social gains.
Battery Energy Storage Planning and Grid Positioning Software
Stakeholders of the Project: Ratio Technologies
The goal of the project: The aim of the project is to develop energy storage simulation functions in distribution by adding network analysis functions to the RatioSIM - Storage Modeling Software developed by Ratio Technologies, in order to answer these 3 questions.
Innovative Aspect and Benefit: Network modeling, investment feasibility modeling and technical parameter determination of battery storage systems are normally carried out with independent tools and manually with field expertise. In this context, SINCAL/Digsilent etc. for network analysis. Analysis software, consultancy from 3rd party EPCs for technical parameter selection and simple Excel spreadsheets are used for investment feasibility modelling. However, in terms of the number of parameters and decision variables that need to be considered to meet these needs, the storage modeling problem is too complex to be determined manually. On the other hand, it is impossible to optimally evaluate all network constraints with manual processes. With the solution developed by Ratio Technologies within the scope of Tubitak 1512, all these processes are carried out automatically and in an optimized manner (with a software that is one of the few examples in the world). By customizing this software for the distribution sector with GDZ, a multi-purpose modeling software that has very few examples in the world will be brought to the market.
