All Services
Knowing that our industry and the services we offer are of critical importance, we strive to do what’s best for today and tomorrow, investing more in innovative technologies. To this end, we set on a journey in 2013, which we currently continue with an advanced integrated infrastructure, in particular with the advanced SCADA, CBS and OSOS.
In line with our mission to pioneer the advancement of infrastructure in the electricity distribution services in our country, we focus on scientific and technological collaborations as per our development model that is based on research, technology development, education and training.
R&D Projects
We keep introducing innovation and advanced technology to the distribution sector through 42 R&D projects designed with a special focus on the goals and strategies set by the EPDK (energy market regulatory authority). We take an active role in developing and using advanced technology for feasibility reports, prototypes, new hardware and software.
Our success in CSP ERANET Additional Call 2021 allowed us to get approval for our first EU-funded R&D project. We continue our work focusing on taking an active role in nationally and internationally funded R&D projects, such as those funded by TÜBİTAK and HORIZON.
Our presence in the start-up ecosystem allows us to support initiatives with innovative project ideas for the power distribution sector, so that we play a part in developing technologies and offering them for use.

Turkey Smart Grids 2023 Project
Under Turkey Smart Grids 2023, it was aimed to provide a roadmap for distribution companies in the short and medium term (Implementation Periods III and IV) with the 2023 smart grid vision, both in Implementation Period III and then by revealing the priority studies to be conducted regarding smart grids.

Remote Monitoring and Control Systems (SCADA)
We are one of the leading distribution companies that started to use the SCADA/DMS system, with the aim of ensuring that grid management in power distribution can be performed using high-tech equipment, with optimum labor, in a safe, uninterrupted, remotely monitored, quick and efficient manner. In this regard, we are able to remotely control 170 stations and 1970 feeders. Each year, an increasing number of transformers and distribution centers are involved in the SCADA system.
Geographical Information System (CBS)
The CBS allows us to manage the power distribution grid inventory in our region. As part of this, the entirety of our distribution grid has been transferred to the electronic environment and modelled, right from the source through to all subscribers. The Geographical Information System software allows us to use other systems -that allow management of the distribution grid - as the main data source; the SCADA/DMS, Customer Relations Management (CRM), Customer Information Systems (MBS), and Asset Maintenance Management System, to name a few.
Automated Meter Reading System (OSOS)
Thanks to OSOS, we remotely read 32,013 meters and transfer their consumption and profile values to the system, said meters comprising high-consumption customer meters, all manufacturing plant meters connected to the distribution grid (licensed or unlicensed), and all lighting meters covered by the distribution area. We use the accrual values and data provided by the OSOS to ensure traceability of the system. Furthermore, we share such data with the user to contribute to customer satisfaction and total quality improvement.
The active power consumption limit for the meters that are required to be covered by the OSOS is approved by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority. For consumer whose consumption is above this limit, our company installs a meter that has the required qualities without charging any fees (except for the cases stated in legislation).
Our subscribers connected to OSOS can fill out the documents below, as well as the “OSOS User Password Request Form” provided in the last row, then send them to sayacislemleri@gdzelektrik.com.tr with a wet-ink signature, to request their username and password, which will allow them to connect to their electricity meters online and read their consumption data.
